Fellow Olympians, we’re back with another Development Update, and one of the last of 2024! Please read the full text of the update, as it contains information for all fans of BLits Games and Jock Studio!

Development Diary 11 – Story, Background Art & Photoshoot Phase Focus

We’re diving straight into our 11th Development Diary, featuring previews of what the team’s been up to over the last month!

Part 1 – Story

First up, we’re pleased to announce some great news – the story for Demo 2.0, including five fully playable in-game days, or one week at Olympus University, has wrapped up writing! The story is now in the final proofreading and cueing stages, as well as has already begun being programmed!

Like we mentioned in our Demo 2.0 Content Reveal, while Demo 1.0 focused on meeting the characters, Demo 2.0 will have a heavy focus on introducing the mechanics and gameplay of Jock Studio. That being said, story is still crucial to any BLits release, and Demo 2.0 is no exception – you’ll be treated to plenty of new information about the Jocks, what makes them tick, and even experience Ace’s inner turmoil as he struggles with a big decision – his first time on camera!

Luckily for him, the Jocks are there to make his decision easier (or harder, depending on your perspective) with plenty of spicy scenarios, like the teaser below…

You can look forward to seeing the full scene, as well as the lead-up and after-effects, when Demo 2.0 releases later this year!

Part 2 – Background Compilation

Next up, we’re also happy to announce that all background art needed for Demo 2.0, including lighting and crowd variants (previewed in our last development update) have been completed and extracted! You can see a little teaser compilation of all the pieces below:

All of these backgrounds can be visited by Ace during Demo 2.0, and each will have tons of unique details in the crowds, posters, and more, so keep your eyes peeled for the fully rendered versions then! We’ll have more backgrounds to show again in the new year, after Demo 2.0 is released and we continue further development into the main game, so stay tuned!

Part 3 – Oracle App Showcase

Next up, we’ve had several previews of Oracle Phone Apps over the last few months, and we’re going to wrap them up by showing off two final apps – the Gallery and Interactive Oracle!

First, the Gallery app is your go-to for any of the amazing art you’ve encountered throughout the gameplay – you can view it at any time from your Oracle Phone! Not only that, but unlike our previous titles, Camp Buddy & Scoutmaster Season, there’s no coin cost to unlock – as soon as you’ve seen the image, it’s all yours to view! Check out a preview of how it works below:

Next, the Interactive Oracle might sound familiar to you – it’s IO, our new character and handy guide throughout Olympus University! Although IO will prompt himself at helpful times throughout gameplay, he’s always available for quick help with his centralized app – serving as a tutorial hub for everything Jock Studio! If you’re ever in need of a quick reference or explanation of a mechanic, check it out here!

Finally, we’re also happy to show off the Calendar App, where you can keep track of Ace and the Jock’s schedules throughout the week! See when it’s time to attend class and club activities, and even get insights on where the Jocks are at certain times of day – visit them and you might even unlock a special scene!

You can experience all three of these apps, as well as all the others shown in previous updates, in Demo 2.0!

Part 3 – Photoshoot Phase Focus

Finally, to wrap up our 11th Development Diary, we’re going to be going into a detailed focus of the Photoshoot Phase, first revealed as part of our Demo 2.0 Content Reveal! To recap what was discussed, the Photoshoot Phase serves as a means to boost Ace & the Jock’s performance stats, specifically Charm, Libido and Skill!

Last time, we previewed the character select screen, where you choose the stage and outfits for the cast before proceeding to the actual minigame. But how do you play the minigame? Check out a gameplay preview below:

Playing the photoshoot phase is simple – select a pose category from either “Quirky,” “Sexy”, or “Cool”, and your focused Jock will hop into position – in the full game, there will be many different poses they can pick from in each category, but options will be limited in the demo!

Once a pose has been picked and the Jock’s in position, watch the countdown and then start snapping pics! As you successfully snap pics, you work towards completing a set, and when a full set has been completed, you earn a star and can choose another pose category for your Jock to jump into!

Not only that, but the further along you get, the hotter the action – each successful star causes the Jock to lose some of their clothes – seen in a preview below:

Drop your undies (or more!) to make the pics even sexier – the further along you get, the more nude your Jock becomes, so go for three stars to see the grand prize! You can experience this minigame in full, along with more detailed instructions as to how it works, in Demo 2.0!

Closing Word

That’s all for this Development Update, Olympians, but we hope everyone enjoyed these previews and teasers! We know that everyone is eagerly anticipating Demo 2.0’s release, but we are not prepared to announce a specific Demo 2.0 release date yet.

We can assure you that our team is working overtime to complete Demo 2.0 and have it in the best state possible for all of you to experience, so please be patient with us, and we will announce a release date as soon as we’re ready! We are still aiming for a Late 2024 Release, and if that changes, we will let everyone know as soon as possible!

In the meantime, we’ll be back with a special Camp Buddy 6th Anniversary Event on Monday, November 11th, so please stay tuned for more details at that time! Additionally, our next Jock Studio Development Diary will be in December 2024, and will be our last Development Diary of the year!

Thank you as always for your support,

Lots of love,

~BLits Games
